Resummed Predictions for the Structure Function F 2 at Small X
We report the results of including resummed splitting functions in the QCD evolution equations at small x, and discuss the predictions that follow for the deep inelastic structure functions.

In the framework of conventional Regge theory we present a common description of total photon-proton cross-section and proton structure functions in the region 0 ≤ Q 2 ≤ 5 GeV 2. Using it as an initial condition in the perturbative QCD evolution equation, we describe structure functions at any Q 2 and x-including the small x region explored at HERA.

The numerical effects of the known all-order leading and next-toleading logarithmic small-x contributions to the anomalous dimensions and coefficient functions of the unpolarized singlet evolution are discussed for the structure functions F ep 2 (x, Q ), F ep L (x, Q ), and F eγ 2 (x, Q ). Introduction The evolution kernels of the deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) structure functions contain larg...

We discuss the diffractive deep inelastic scattering at very small x and derive the properties of the diffractive dissociation of virtual photons in the triple-pomeron regime. We demonstrate that the photon-pomeron interactions can be described by the partonic structure function, which satisfies the QCD evolution equations, and identify the valence and sea (anti)quark and the valence gluon stru...
متن کاملThe Evolution of Unpolarized and Polarized Structure Functions at Small x∗
A survey is given of recent developments on the resummed small-x evolution, in a framework based on the renormalization group equation, of non–singlet and singlet structure functions in both unpolarized and polarized deep–inelastic scattering. The available resummed anomalous dimensions are discussed for all these cases, and the most important analytic and numerical results are compiled. The qu...
